Participants will learn voice and body work techniques used by Orators, Bards, Actors, and Mimes of the past.
These techniques are critical to building your imagination, inspiration, and confidence when speaking in front of a live audience. You will also have time and guidance to write and perform an inspired reading, a true story, or funny story, rap, or poem, that you will write and practice during the workshops and use in a final presentation on the last day. piece,
Every workshop will begin with Body and Voice warm -ups.

These exercises will stimulate your imagination, open up your creativity, and help to give you a more expressive body and voice. They are great to use in the future to help you become more relaxed, confident, and inspired before any presentations you may give in the future.

Participants will work on their chosen readings, stories, etc, writing, revising, editing, and practici
ng them in front of the class. So by day 3, the day of the ISD event- SoulShine Summer Fest at SUNY College Camp, everyone will feel confident and excited about speaking in front of a live audience at the ISD event.

Barbara L. Gregson of Gregson Theater, Gregson.theater is a Theater artist, Director, and Author of “Theater Artists’ Play, a Guide to Making and Creating Your Own Theater Work.
“She believes in making the theater arts accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Her motto is, “Imagine, Create, Play! “ She teaches mime, maskmaking, and acting/storytelling techniques to the participants of her productions so they may create their own original Theater pieces and performances.
For the past 15 years, Barbara has written and collaborated with people throughout the Southern Tier of NY., receiving State and regional arts council grants to create original theater pieces and productions. Previously, she worked with the PA., DE., and NJ. State Arts councils and lived in Philadelphia, PA.
