Come Join the Fun!  This is our Summer Picnic date as well, following the Service at 11:30 am. SUNY College Camp is ours until late afternoon.

There will be Free Psychic Readings and Healing sessions lasting until 2pm with ISD sanctioned healers & readers.

Gather round the campfire for singing, drumming starting about 2 pm.
There are also well-marked hiking trails with beautiful views. Bring your hiking shoes, hat, insect repellent, if you would like to be included on a walk.

Please bring a dish to pass (side dish, main dish or dessert). ISD will provide drinks and paperware.

Heaven is Beautiful : How Dying Taught Me That Death Is Just a Beginning was written by Peter Baldwin Panagore. His story is an account of his near death experience while hiking in Alberta Canada when he was 21 years old. He was ice climbing the Lower Weeping Wall on Cirrus Mountain, Banff National Park. Several climbing mistakes resulted in Peter and his partner being stranded on the ice wall over night and experiencing hypothermia. Peter was well versed in the stages of hypothermia and was aware of his increasing confusion, clumsiness and sleepiness as the hypothermia increased. Peter struggled to stay awake but he was unable to and he slipped into death. He died on the side of the mountain and experienced forgiveness, unconditional love and bliss... continue reading here.

If you would like to read this book, it is available for ISD members to borrow at the ISD Library in the Lotus Center. Books are loaned for a period of one month and can be renewed one time if there is no hold.

What is the Institute for Spiritual Development?

It's both a metaphysical church and an educational center originally founded 47 yrs ago in Sparta, NJ. With the belief that all paths lead us Home, ISD is dedicated to helping each spirit walk their path with courage and joy.

The Oneonta NY chapter of ISD was Lovingly created by Rev. Diana Friedell & her sister Rev. Sue Landon. We are now led by a powerful leadership team, and executive board.
