ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(December 1 - 7)
The MERCURY retrograde continues in Sagittarius until 12/15. Mercury likes to analyze, organize, and express. During a Sagittarius retrograde Mercury has a chance to analyze new, visionary ideas. Consider now, implement later when Mercury moves on to Capricorn on 1/9/25. This is a long transit this time since the retrograde motion is entirely in Sagittarius.
December begins and ends with NEW MOONS. When there are 2 in one calendar month they are called Black Moons. As with any New Moon there is an enhanced emotional energy and a drive toward a new beginning, so when there are 2 it bookends December with an added dose of strength.
A NEW MOON is also a glimpse into, and heightened connection with, the Void. Metaphysics sees the Void as the great unmanifest, and as the source for all creation. December will give us great opportunities to partner with our full souls at a time when we may be in particular need of that deep connection. I will also add here that the Void is everywhere, all around and within you, as well as in the vacuum of space. It is your creation palette, designed to work with and for you.
The 12/01 NEW MOON is in Sagittarius at 4:21 am EST. The Moon rules the subconscious mind and can be a significant development since this is also a time of beginnings. Sagittarius is quite visionary with far-reaching ideas gaining traction, usually in the subconscious at first. These two combined can be potent, so be alert to how any new concepts make you feel. The heart will point the way forward. This might be a definite boost at a time when many are experiencing a challenge to their faith due to world events.
12/06 begins the MARS retrograde in Leo. This combination is powerful and potentially volatile. The aggressive side of this combination has held sway for the time being. This interval softens the aggression somewhat if we let it. The retrograde takes Mars back into Cancer on 1/07/25 where it adjusts energies considerably. This retrograde allows us to think twice before taking action, which is a normal function of Mars in Leo.
12/07 is a busy day in the solar system with 3 events. NEPTUNE ends its 5 month retrograde motion in Pisces. We all have undoubtedly entertained many dreams and mystical experiences. Now reality may be smacking many of us in the face. We thought our visions of a better world were imminent, only to find that humanity hasn't reached that tipping point yet. Since free will must hold, how do we find our center and live our individual dream independent of the timing of everyone else?
NEPTUNE can assist with this. It will remain in the 3rd decanate (last 10°) of Pisces until it leaves in 2026. The keyword is “action.” The Neptune/Pisces combination gives a spirit driven, heartfelt flavor to its creations. However, give yourself time for solitude so that your imagination can soar independent of the noise of society. You have your own talents and your own path that will not be denied by the choices of others. Neptune in Pisces helps you find your own first, best destiny.
12/07 also sees both VENUS and asteroid CERES move together into Aquarius, and immediately form a direct conjunction with PLUTO.
VENUS is in Aquarius until 1/2/25. She applies her love of beauty and grace to the Aquarian ideal of individual freedom, and to idealistic altruism at the same time. Venus shows a friendliness, and gregarious attitude that also maintains a certain detachment in Aquarius. This is meant to be a healthy energy that allows you to be “in this world but not of it.”
CERES exhibits a nurturing, motherly female energy. In Aquarius that focus applies to the masses. Ceres cares for everyone. Her conjunction with Pluto is particularly interesting because it was the Plutonian underworld that the Ceres myth was concerned with. The story is that Ceres’ daughter Persephone married Hades/Pluto and went with him into the underworld. Demeter/Ceres, who is the goddess of harvest and food was so distraught that she refused to begin the growing season. The compromise made was that Persephone would return each Spring to spend 6 months out of the year with her mother, hence the seasons. Ceres is within the effective arc of conjunction with Pluto for 47 days from 11/15/24 to 1/01/25. This creates an opportunity for the transformation of Plutonian energy from that of the underworld, to transformation, with help from loving, nurturing Ceres.
PLUTO'S new, long term home in Aquarius will get a nice infusion of feminine influence to begin its new focus. This new outlook will be for the masses, but may take some time to show itself, since a good deal of resistance still remains.
The 3 together also form one corner of a Minor trine(talent triangle) with Neptune/Pisces and Uranus/Taurus. This is the same minor trine that has formed the top of many kite formations for several months now. There is much assistance for each individual to take their talents to a new level now.
We are all living through times of great change with a very significant resistance in place. May we all find some measure of peace and grace and know in our hearts that light and love is our destiny.
ASTROLOGY FORECAST
(December 8 - 15)
The FULL MOON is on 12/15 at 4:01 am EST in Gemini. Gemini is a mutable air sign that exhibits quick wit, talent in speaking and writing, has many interests, and generally gets along well with everyone. When the Moon shines full in this sector an important loving, emotional element is added. Communications have the opportunity to reach full flower with the Moon’s benevolent light. It will be helpful to strive for positive, hopeful thoughts during this transit. Concentrate on the many things in life that delight you, fascinate you, and make you feel happy to be alive - no matter how small or insignificant they may seem. Efforts made on this day will set markers for the times to come.
12/15 - Lightworkers and Metaphysicians are conduits and placeholders for love and light. We have an important role to play and the happier we are the better for all concerned.
Now we are going to expand our attention to asteroids/dwarf planets that we have covered very little, or not at all yet. The growing field of astrology has come to include more and more heavenly bodies in addition to the traditional planets and points. The philosophy is that when we expand our attention, knowledge, and abilities to perceive further into the Cosmos we become ready to incorporate more astrological wisdom into our analysis. Given the turmoil within the human collective I felt guided to look at asteroids considered to assist with happiness, nurturing, guidance, etc. All but one of them are in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, the exception being Haumea located in the Kuiper belt out beyond Neptune. I found them to be in interesting locations right now. Allow me to introduce you to some new friends:
FELICITAS - Happiness, humor, and beauty, currently in Aries.
FORTUNA - Luck and fortune in all things, currently in Aries.
Both Felicitas and Fortuna are in a stellium in Aries with the North Node, Chiron. They can help with Chiron's attempt to heal us from long term deep wounds and the North Node's aspirations for our soul growth. Aries is about fresh starts and optimism.
THALIA - Happiness and humor, currently in Sagittarius with the Sun.
HAUMEA - Rebirth and replenishment, connects us to unity, appreciation, currently in very early Scorpio.
12/15 - There is a group of points and asteroids in a stellium in Libra, opposite the stellium in Aries. This axis of signs aids each other to achieve a balance between justice loving Libra and youthful, fiery Aries. If you'll remember we are having solar/lunar eclipse events along this axis from 2023-2025. I thought it was intriguing to see all these “happiness” asteroids gathered together along this axis as well. The asteroids/points in the stellium in Libra are:
SOUTH NODE - This lunar point indicates our soul attributes; what lessons we've learned, talents we've developed, and challenges we hope to improve on.
TYCHE - Directly conjunct the South Node. Tyche is
the Goddess of Fortune whose symbol is the Cornucopia.
AMALTHEA - Abundance and nurturing, capacity for empathy and compassion.
VERTEX - This is a fate point, significant encounters, a wish point, a destiny point.
PART OF FORTUNE - This is conjunct the Vertex. It is an opportunity for great luck.
VESTA - We have discussed Vesta before. She signifies the location of the “sacred in your soul.”
LILITH - We are also familiar with Lilith. She is the liberated woman. Her current location with all of these happiness points gives hope for a fair, balanced future for the feminine in our souls.
ANGEL - This asteroid signifies where we are being watched over by our Angelic guardians. The current location in Libra is very comforting. Libra, above all others strives for fairness, balance, and win/win scenarios.
So there you have it. When we seek further for support we find much to comfort us in the quest for simple happiness and joy. The current location of all these helpers along the current eclipse axis seems particularly significant to me. It is as if the heavens are whispering to us, “we've got you!”
We all instinctively know it is a choice, but when going through very challenging times, it is wonderful to find some additional support.
We will keep an eye on these additional asteroids in the future: Angel, Amalthea, Felicitas, Fortuna, Haumea, Thalia, and Tyche.
